Taking a Certified Ultrasound Technician
You have to get associates degrees with education at least 2 years or bachelor degree with 4 year programs to be ultrasound technician. You can take this education in junior colleges, academic schools, vocational schools and technical schools. Before taking the exam of ARDMS or American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers, you need to take one year of clinical practicum.
In the clinical practicum, you will practice what you have learnt in your college. After you take clinical practicum, you will sit for the real ARDMS exam. When passing the exam, you will have certified ultrasound technician. You can’t take ARDMS exam without showing the proof of your clinical practicum. Once you got a certification, you will have unlimited opportunities to work in medical place or teach in vocational schools. You will earn a good income and have bright career.
